What to expect

Initial Consultation:

  • Prior to our first appointment, you will be required to fill out a detailed intake form. This provides insight into your current health needs and your goals to guide our first consultation.

  • We meet for up to 60 minutes so that a thorough case history can be taken to learn more about you and any conditions that you may have. In this time, you will be asked for more details about any presenting complaints (health conditions), your relevant family history, your lifestyle, your diet, any medications or supplements that you are currently taking, any recent blood test results, and questions about 2-3 of your body systems (the ones most relevant to your case). We will also discuss your priorities and goals. Relevant physical examinations will be conducted, with your consent (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, tongue analysis, nail analysis, waist/hip measurements, etc).

  • An initial personalised treatment plan will be developed for you, taking into consideration your needs. You will be emailed a copy of your treatment plan with any supporting educational material.

Return Consultations:

  • Depending on what you are seeking support with, it is recommended that your first return consultation will be 2-3 weeks after your initial consultation. Follow-up questions will be asked and a review of how you have gone with your treatment plan will be conducted to see if any tweaks or modifications need to be made. Additional dietary and lifestyle modifications and supplements may be recommended. Additional goals may be set for you. Repeat prescriptions of your supplements can be arranged.

  • The timings for return consultations are shorter:

    •  First return consultation (allow up to 45-minutes).

    •  Subsequent returns (allow up to 30-minutes).

  • We continue to meet for ongoing return consultations for as long as you need. Generally they will become more spaced out until you no longer need support. The number of appointments will depend on any conditions you have, how long you have had them for, and your health goals. As an educator, I aim to provide you with the knowledge and skill set for you to be able to understand and manage your own health moving forward.

  • From there on, you may require occasional check ins to help keep you on track, or to renew supplement prescriptions.

Acute Consultations:

  • Acute consultations can be booked for existing or new clients.

  • Whether you're dealing with recurrent colds or infections, sudden digestive issues, acute fatigue, or other health challenges, an acute consultation aims to provide you with actionable advice and a clear plan to restore your health quickly and effectively.

  • When you book an acute clinical nutrition consultation, you can expect a comprehensive and personalised approach to addressing your immediate health concerns.

  • In 20 minutes, a thorough mini-assessment will be conducted of your medical history (including medications and supplements), current dietary habits, and lifestyle factors that are influencing your current state of health.

  • Specific nutritional and lifestyle strategies will be recommended, along with the prescription of practitioner-only supplements (where clinically indicated) to alleviate symptoms, promote healing, and enhance overall well-being.

  • Note: for long-standing health complications, a longer appointment may be recommended to allow for more detailed case taking and investigation into the causes so that an appropriate treatment plan can be developed.
