A Clinical Nutritionist is a university-trained degree-qualified health professional who applies evidence-based nutrition science to help in the prevention and management of health conditions. Unlike general dietary advice, Clinical Nutritionists take a holistic, personalised approach, looking at the whole body and digging into the root causes of your symptoms rather than simply treating them on the surface. Clinical Nutritionists conduct detailed health case-taking, may order and interpret functional and blood tests, and design individualised treatment plans that may include dietary and lifestyle changes as well as the prescription of practitioner-only supplements.

She also supports clients with a wide range of other conditions including anxiety, stress, anaemia, eczema, insulin resistance and diabetes, sleep disorders, chronic inflammation, and weight management.
Katie supports neurodivergent clients. She welcomes people of all backgrounds as she strongly believes that access to healthcare is for everyone.
-
Your initial appointment involves a detailed and in-depth review of your health history.
This includes your current symptoms, diet, lifestyle, medical history, and health goals.
Katie will take the time to understand the full picture of your health so that she can identify potential root causes and begin building a personalised treatment plan.
She may also recommend functional or blood tests if relevant.
Your personalised treatment plan will be emailed out to you within two days of your appointment. This will include dietary and lifestyle advice, any relevant handouts, and may include the prescription of high quality practitioner-only supplements.

An initial appointment is up to 60 minutes.
A first return appointment is up to 45 minutes.

Katie sees clients in-person at Uprise Health.
The clinic is located at 136 Lennox Street, Richmond, Melbourne. (Free parking is available directly behind the clinic on Bowen Street.)
She also offers Telehealth appointment for clients living Australia-wide.
-
Absolutely! Telehealth appointments are available to clients anywhere in Australia.
All you need is a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.
The experience is just as thorough and personalised as an in-person appointment.
Check with your private health insurance fund if they offer rebates for Telehealth appointments, as not all do. (For more information on which private health insurance funds offer rebates, see FAQ below.)
-
A free 15-minute Discovery Call is the perfect first step if you are unsure whether working with a Clinical Nutritionist is right for you.
During the call, you will have the chance to share your biggest health concerns, learn what working with Katie looks like, and understand the support you would receive.
Discovery calls are conducted via Telehealth and are available to anyone Australia-wide.
There is absolutely no obligation to book a full appointment after the call.
-
This varies depending on your individual health concerns and goals.
Typically, clients begin with an initial appointment followed by a series of follow-up appointments to review progress, adjust the treatment plan, and build on recommendations over time.
Katie will give you a clearer picture of what to expect during your initial appointment.
-
No referral is needed to book in with Katie.
You can book directly through the online booking system.
However, if you have existing blood test results or medical reports, it can be helpful to have these ready for your first appointment.
Katie does also work closely with a number of GPs and clinics, and referrals are always warmly welcomed.
-
Your treatment plan will be emailed out within two days of your appointment.
Treatment plans are completely personalised to you and your health needs.
They are built progressively over time and may include tailored dietary recommendations, lifestyle adjustments (such as sleep, movement, and stress management strategies), relevant handouts, recipes, and the prescription of high-quality practitioner-only supplements where appropriate.
Katie uses an evidence-based, holistic approach, meaning she looks at all aspects of your health, not just one isolated area.
-
No! Clinical Nutrition is not about rigid, restrictive dieting.
Katie takes a balanced, and sustainable approach, focused on nourishing your body and addressing the root causes of your symptoms.
She understands that food is an integral part of enjoying life and connecting with loved ones.
Any dietary recommendations will be practical, realistic, and tailored to your personal preferences, lifestyle, and health needs.
Katie will check in with you to see if the recommendations will work for you, meaning there will be room for you to negotiate.
-
Katie may prescribe practitioner-only supplements as part of your treatment plan where there is evidence they will support your health goals.
These are higher-quality supplements than those typically available over the counter.
Supplements are never a one-size-fits-all recommendation. They are only recommended when appropriate for your individual circumstances.
Katie uses Vital.ly to prescribe supplements. This is an online provider. You will be emailed your prescription from Vital.ly and you will be able to order directly online and have supplements shipped straight to you (within a couple of days).
-
Yes. Katie is trained to review existing blood test results and may recommend additional functional or pathology tests to better understand what is happening in your body.
This can help pinpoint deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, gut health markers, and other factors contributing to your symptoms.
For blood tests, Katie will typically refer you back to your GP to see if tests can be covered by Medicare. Otherwise, she is able to write a referral for blood tests to be done through Clinical Labs.
Katie is also set up with Microba for gold-standard gut microbiome testing, and NutriPath for additional functional testing.
